Some battles we can win. Others simply teach us who we are.
In this new episode of Tra pagine e legami we climb into the small boat of Santiago, Hemingway's ageing fisherman, to cross a sea that feels very much like life.
Eighty-four days without catching a fish. Then another journey, an encounter with a giant marlin, exhaustion, wonder, struggle and finally the return home.
But The Old Man and the Sea is not merely the story of a fisherman.
It is a story about limits, dignity, respect and our relationship with nature. It also questions our need to control, possess and succeed.
Because perhaps growing up does not mean learning to dominate everything.
It means understanding that we will never completely control the sea, other people, relationships or life.
But we can choose how to navigate them.

A question to take away after listening:
What sea are you navigating at this moment in your life? Are you trying to control it, or learning to live within it?
